| Posted: | | | | Hi
When Windows Vista starts the following message appears: "Access violation dvdpro.exe". Also DVD Profiler runs very slowly, I need to wait 15 minutes to DVD Profiler starts.
Thanks. |

| Posted: | | | | Welcome to this forum. You are running: DVD Profiler Version 3.1.1, Build 1171? Can you post some more details? What Vista are you running? English version? Are you using DVD Profiler as it came or do you have plugins or other layouts ... This could help to pinpoint any problem. | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. | Posted: | | | | Could be a problem of running background tasks, like antivirus scanners. If it's not frequently it could be e.g. every time the scanner makes an online update. Only a speculation but not impossible. I experienced similar problems with Mcaffee Antivirus (not in connection with DVD Profiler though). You should try to observe a regularity of the Access Violations.
Are you running any plugins, customizations etc?. Try to run the profiler with default settings (deactivate plugins, use default layout and translation file) a while and monitor if it happens again! | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: by kahless |

| Posted: | | | | Windows Aero desktop activated? Disable Windows Aero If you are not a fan of Windows Aero, or if you are willing to accept less modern look and feel to improve performance of your PC, you can disable Windows Aero altogether: 1. Right-click on your desktop and click Personalize (or from menu Start run: Control Panel > Personalization) 2. Click "Theme" 3. Choose "Windows Classic" and click OK. Your screen will gray out for several seconds. When it comes back, windows will have the classic look and Vista will be faster!
You can now go back to Vista look and feel without re-enabling Aero: 1. Right-click on your desktop and click Personalize (or from menu Start run: Control Panel > Personalization) 2. Click "Window Color and Appearance" 3. Choose "Windows Vista Basic" from the "Color scheme" list and click OK. Again, your screen grays out. After a few seconds, you will now have the standard Vista look and feel but without all the dynamic effects of Windows Aero (the Glass effect, Taskbar Thumbnails or the Flip 3D).
To re-enable Windows Aero, choose "Windows Aero" from the "Color scheme" list mentioned above. | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions. |

| Posted: | | | | We can try to narrow down the problem: Did it happen right after you installed DVDP or did it run without problems for some time? If it happened just after installation, did you install into default path suggested by installer? If it first run without problems, have you already tried the database repair and cleanup images? What privileges has the user you are using to run DVDP? |

| Posted: | | | | Hello again
I happened just after installation. I installed DVDP into default path. The user that I am using to run DVDP has Administrator´s privilege.
Kind regards. |

| Posted: | | | | Hello, thanks, the message "access violation dvdpro.exe" no longer appears when windows vista starts. However I still have some problems with DVD Profiler. When I install DVD Profiler everything is OK.The problem starts when I try to refresh DVD Profiler from Invelos for first time. Then the program starts very slowly, needs 10 minutes to start, and, for example, if I want to add dvds don´t recognize any UPC.

| Posted: | | | | Now sounds like some kind of connection issue. Have you tried temporary disabling the firewall and virus checker? What's the result of the Test Internet Connection function in DVDP (Tools > Options > Online)? Maybe it works with the Use alternate Internet connection method feature enabled... |

| Posted: | | | | Double check that you have your registration details correctly entered in profiler then try doing a database repair. Tools > Options > Utilities > Repair DVD Profiler Database.
If that doesn't work, check your parental control setting. Finally try Tools > Options > Utilities > Reset All Menus. | | | Last edited: by Telecine |

| Posted: | | | | you could try to run DVD Profiler with Windows Vista Compatibility Tab: go to directory where DVD Profiler.exe is installed. right click on the DVD Profiler.exe select the properties from the menu select compatibility tab: mark Compatibility mode: select 'Windows XP (Service Pack 2) Settings: mark Disable visual themes mark Disable desktop composition mark Disable display scaling on high DPI settings
if that does not work try selecting Windows 98 SE/ ME settings | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions. |
