I am running Version 3.0.3 Build 1136. I backed up my database which contained 707 DVD's prior to reformatting my hard drive. When I reinstalled DVD Profiler and tried to restore the database I get the following error.

Restore aborted.
The following error occured during the restore:
Unrecognized file format for the user record.

Any help in resolving this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ray

Can you try restoring a few titles at a time, rather than the whole database, and see if you can pin down which title(s) the corruption is affecting?

or if, as it seems to say, the User part of the database is causing the problem, untick the 'Replace full user database' box and see if that helps.
It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong

Current Version of DVD Profiler is Version 3.1.1, Build 1171
are you running this one? If so reinstall 3.0.3 Build 1136 and try again.
if you are running 3.0.3 Build 1136: install 3.1.1, Build 1171 and try again.

@Voltaire53
I tried your suggestions but nothing worked.

@Giga Wizard
Installing v3.1.1 Build 1171 did the trick. Database was restored sucessfully.

Thanks to both for your help.

Ray

Great,
allso as a safety measure, you could put your collection online where you could retrieve them if everything would go wrong. (keep your backing up however)

Another safety measure would be to create an alternate database copying all the data from the current database (menu "Open Database" - click on "New Database" - tick the "Copy the current database" check box"), and then leave that alternate database as sort of a backup copy.
EDIT: anyway, read Goodguy's warning before switching databases.
