These things are ping-ponging.

Rl3058 is changing the cast to include the rank such as from "Jonathan Archer" to "Captain Jonathan Archer".

Hal9g is changing the cast to remove them - such as from "Captain Jonathan Archer" to "Jonathan Archer".

...and using the Lock feature should at some point stop the ping-ponging. 

Startrek.com is the source that I have cited for all of my contributions.  They do not list the military ranks.  ST: Voyager began dropping ranks (in the actual on screen credits) except for Janeway.

I contributed the the child profiles for the first 3 seasons since they were not in the database.  I will grant that I did not use the James Wolvington common name (he's credited as Jim Wolvington), but that is pretty much the only thing that could be considered wrong with these profiles.

Rl3058 submitted the children for Season 4 but he left out a bunch of data that I went back in and added/corrected, including fixing the rolenames to match Startrek.com.

The other issue that is being ping ponged is the use of "Created By" and "Theme By".  We've had many discussions about these issues and the general consensus is that neither of these credits have an equivalent in DVDP.

The fact is that Enterprise is not based on "original characters" from Brannon or Braga, they are all new characters (except for T'Pol and cameo appearances of others), so "Original Characters By" should not be used for the "Created By" credit.  This has been discussed many times and I even refenced one of those threads when I vote.

Diane Warren is credited with "Theme By".  She did not write the scores for any of the episodes, that was usually Dennis McCarthy or Jay Chattaway.  To give her the same credit as those two gentlemen is just ludicrous.  They did completely different work.

And finally, RL3058 just yesterday submitted a profile for Season 3 disc 7, which is ONLY special features.  He added cast for this disc using dividers for each of the special features.

And guess what.....he's getting all yes votes except from me.

Not quite, if you follow the link I posted, you see the main cast and roles - all of them have ranks. However, when you click through to the individual pages, the rank is no longer used.

When you go to the episode listing to find the cast, the ranks are not listed.  When doing episode cast lists, I would expect one to go to the episode cast list at startrek.com, not the main cast list.

Interestingly enough, for Voyager they (startrek.com cast page) do not list any ranks, including for Janeway, even though every episode has her rank in the credits.
