Any way we could get a wiki hosted off of the support page?  People use threads in the forums for information that needs to hang around, but searching there is cumbersome and updating even moreso.  A wiki would be extremely useful around here for capturing that sort of info, and would probably cut down on the number of repeated questions in the forums.

OK, that last part is totally wishful thinking, but still...

If this is something that can't or won't happen off the support page, I wouldn't mind setting one up. I've been wanting to create a Wiki for a while, but haven't had a reason to.

Hasn't someone already set something like that up?
I'll see if I can find a link.

Edit: found it here.

I knew as well, there was some Wiki already, but I lost the URL at some time and was too lazy to search again for it. According o the last changes on that Wiki, there is not much activity (if at all), so I suppose it's just not prominent enough...
In my opinion Wikis are a great platform for maintaining things like a Knowledge-Base and I like the idea of a DVDP wiki.
I however think it should be closer connected to the main site, e.g. linked on the front page, or even be a sub-site of invelos.com. It would as well be great to have a common user account base instead of separated ones...

I've registered a couple of domains and pointed them to DVDoug's Wiki as linked to above.

The domains are:

DVDProfilerWiki.org (.org)
DVDProfilerWiki.com (.com)

I'll include one of them in my signature to help spread the awareness of it.

Oh, and it should be noted that I checked with DVDoug and he's okay with me pointing these domains to the Wiki.

I'm stll for it.
As I said here:

Not sure about the Portal either, but the Wiki is for everyone, so everyone can edit!
I do, see signature.
If I remember correctly the idea of an official DVD Profiler Wiki has been brought up earlier and Doug would have gladly transfered the already existing articles, unfortunately no response from Ken.

I still think it would be a splendid idea, see "why are some title underlayed green?" questions. Although I would like to keep Contribution Rules out of the wiki.

PS Between "Support" and "Database" in the navigation "Wiki" would be a perfect fit. If only registerd forum user can edit it the vandalism should be kept to a minimum.

While I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm, I really think this is something that Invelos should host.  And I wonder if Ken is going to get grumpy about people grabbing domains with his trademark in them...

I know I'd be peeved if someone grabbed domains with my trademark without asking.

Then you would be glad to know that "DVDPprofiler" nor "DVD Profiler" are trademarks according to United States Patent and Trademark Office or the same in Denmark...

If that's truly the case, then Ken really missed a trick there.

While asking permission first might be a good move, it's not like the domains are used to promote another product... I guess Ken will let the users know if he would prefer them to cancel those domains.

Ken's already let me know he's fine with my two domains. I'd be more than happy to transfer the ownership to him anyway, should he want them.

Great! Two thumbs up

What I forgot to mention i my previous post, kudos to you for the idea and just the same to Doug for agreeing with it.

I'll add the link to my signature for a while as well, as to spread awareness even more...
