Any barcode scanner that can emulate keyboard input can be used with the program.

As far as webcams, to use those as a barcode scanner they need software that will 'parse' the image taken and return the upc from that. There are some of these softwares available via open source and freeware programs. I haven't used any but depending on how they work its probably possible to use them to read the barcode and then minimally copy past the UPC into DVD profiler, possibly 'scan' the barcode right into dvd profiler if the program being used can emulate a keyboard (generally refered to as a scanner wedge). Also, I believe you need to get a pretty clear, straight image of the barcode for these web cam scanners to work accuratly.

I wouldn't excpect this web cam functionallity to be released as an official part of the program, but there was talk a while back about people looking at making a plug-in for this, but I don't think anything happened with that.

also, you can get scanners pretty cheap on ebay, most people seem to use the cue-cat which can be purchased on e-bay for about $10. but if you get a single line scanner that will tend to be cheaper.
