Maybe we can rate the contributions? like we review film and DVD, we could review the covers and other info. When I create a new profile I check profiles from other localities and choose the best one (then I try to check if it is correct), it would be easier to see the ones with higher review scores. I think this would make the contributions better, what do you think?

Rather than rate individual contributions, perhaps rating overall profiles would be a better way to go.  That way, those profiles in your collection with a low rating would be more deserving of attention.

Quite honestly, I'd love to know when a profile is "done", at least as far as the community is concerned.

That's coming close to my idea of a "reference profile" again, where only the most common attributes of a film should be saved (Cast and Crew) and that works  as guideline for new releases of the same movie. Would save a lot of work actually.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

It certainly would, goblins!
And it could also serve as a first step towards a system where most movie-based info is shared across profiles and localities, as e.g. has been discussed here.

Isn't the "view/edit locks" feature in the main database just for that?

For profiles that are accurate and verified, you can also place locks to ensure the data stays correct.

Ummm, the point I was making was that if an online profile was rated a 10 by the community, it can be reasonably deduced that it is "done".  Conversely, a profile rated a 2 would need some attention.
