| Posted: | | | | I seem to remember someone with some "inside knowledge" pointing out here in the forums that "Del" in actor Barry Del Sherman's name was not an article, but a middle name, so as a result his name should be parsed Barry/Del/Sherman, not Barry//Del Sherman. I've searched and searched, but I couldn't find that message, and I really need a bit of documentation to fix one of his entries. Can anyone confirm this? Or prove it wrong? Either way will do... |

| Posted: | | | | I couldn't find it anywhere doing outside Google searches of Invelos and the old Intervocative forums. About the closest I can come to proving anything is that he is sometimes credited as "Barry Sherman" which leads me to believe "Del" is a middle name. If it was an article and part of his last name, why would that sometimes get left off? He's credited as just "Barry Sherman" for many of this early movies and TV shows (Alien Nation, Reality Bites, Suicide Kings, etc.) Also, here's a review of the play Kingfish where he's referred to as just "Barry Sherman" in print. And to prove it's the same guy, he has his resume posted on IMDB which lists the play. Then there's this Actor's Compendium entry for American Beauty that lists him as "Sherman, Barry Del" so they also are listing "Del" as his middle name. Fandango also lists him as "Sherman" as his last name. That's about all I got. | | | "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men" - Douglas Bader "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams |
