"John Williams" is credited in the following 1005 titles (2526 profiles): still a long way to go.

No, that's not it. The point is, if you already have established the birth year in your local database (either by adding it yourself or downloading another profile that had it), any newly downloaded John Williams entry will automatically be merged with your existing John Williams (1932) entry. So it will immediately show the birth year when you look at the profile, but it still isn't present in the actual profile that you've just downloaded. Try submitting the profile without making any changes, and you'll see that the system notices the difference between the current entry (without birth year) and the new one (with birth year), and subsequently lets you submit it.

It's certainly already an "approved" birth year (meaning that when you submit it, Invelos won't ask for further documentation and no checkbox appears on the bottom of the contribution screen). That unfortunately doesn't mean that the birth year doesn't still have to manually added to over 2000 profiles... 

As of yet, the Spanish version of 'A.I.' under 7-321926-213309 does not yet contain a birth year for John Williams. Again: if said birth year is already present in your local database, these entries will automatically merge, but the newly added birth year does still need to be submitted into that profile. The fact that no checkbox for him is shown means that his birth year is already approved for other profiles, so there's no need for further documentation. It still needs to be submitted, though. Be careful, though: you indicate that you apparently have birth years for Steven Spielberg and others, and if they're not needed, you should either remove them from your database, or at the very least, not tick those checkboxes when contributing.

Bottom line: I think we can safely say that this is a very messy area in DVD Profiler!
