| Posted: | | | | I thought the "official" movie website from the studio was considered authoritative. If it's not a good source, then what the heck is? I'm asking because I made a contribution for 3:10 to Yuma from that source and it was declined, siting "third party database violation." |

Out of curiosity what were you getting from the web site the on screen credits didn't provide? | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | Firefly the Rules are clear and your Contribution violated them, so, as it should have been it was declined. As tweeter noted we use On Screen Credits ONLY. That is our only official site.

| Posted: | | | | Ah, I understand now. Thanks for clarifying.
And Tweeter, I guess the answer is that it was easier as my computer is on a different floor of my house than my computer. So you folks just take notes from the on-screen credits and type them in? |

I guess it's more difficult if you don't have a DVD drive in your computer or a way to sit in front of the TV with a computer. |

| Posted: | | | | It also helps if you have a wide screen monitor and can have both programs on screen at the same time. I use PowerDVD to play the DVD and either Tom Gaines' Cast & Crew Editor program or Goodguy's Excel one open at the same time - so I have two windows in front of me: 1 with the credits from the DVD shown and the other with a spreadsheet into which I can enter the credit data. I could also do the same with an open Profiler window, but it's easier to use the cast/crew editor programs than enter stuff directly into Profiler.
When you do it the way I described, the alt-tabbing that nolesrule mentions is done with both programs on screen at the same time. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. | Posted: | | | | I always use the IMDB for Crew & Cast. I find it an easy and quick way to get the basics into a profile. Then I put in the disc and check the screen. You can take any source but afterwards: check the screen from the beginning to the end and the end is the very end of the disc, the last line |

| Posted: | | | | Firefly,
Just to note, the official site is an excellent (and valid) source for uncredited cast. As are special features on the disc. either of these may be used as a single source since they are not third party. | | | Build a man a fire and you keep him warm for a day.
