Why:
Some frequently used menu commands have no shortcut at all.
Some existing shortcuts are not really intuitive.
I'm one of those fossiles who have the old-style Copy/Paste/Cut shortcuts (Ctrl+Ins, Shift+Ins, Shift+Del) deeply ingrained. Consequently, I often find myself highlighting some text in Notes or in an HTML section and press Ctrl+Ins to copy it to the clipboard - only to silently mouth the F-word for several seconds until the Add DVD window has finally popped up and I can cancel it. | | | | Matthias |

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is Ctrl+C-challenged and always tends to use the old Ctrl+Ins. I favor Ctrl+C, Ctrl-X, and Ctrl-V because that's how I learned the shortcuts. I also set my default to Numlock OFF -- because that's the way I learned it. Is that fascination? I don't know, but to go with the other I'd have to unlearn what I've been doing for years. BTW: What kind of keyboard are you using that "the other method seems so much easier and you can do it one handed? On my keyboard, the ctrl key is close to the C, X and V -- so they can be typed with my left hand quite easily. Ctrl+Ins, Shift+Ins, Shift+Del sound much more difficult to me -- since the keys are further apart on my keyboard than the Ctrl, X and V keys are. I am constantly switching between my Mac and my Windows PC and half the time copying does not work, because I'm hitting the wrong command key.
Under Windows it's CTRL+C, under Mac it's Apple+C. Also text navigation with the keyboard is totally different. :-/ | | | Karsten

Doesn't the space bar exactly do this? Just tried it and it appears it does. I didn't know that and since when you right click there was no shortcut listed next to 'Flag' I just figured there wasn't one. I still support the idea however -Agrare |
