| | Posted: | | | | For contribution notes, it would cool if one of these three possible changes were made: 1.) More space provided so longer contribution notes don't get cut off. 2.) An indicator to the submitter when their notes are too long and all of the notes will not display properly, so they can either trim their notes down a bit or be able to warn viewers they will need to click the "Notes" icon to see the full notes. 3.) The system automatically detects when the notes went over the character length and displays an automated message or icon on the screen so the voters visually see they have to click on something in order to get the full notes. | | Posted: | | | | I agree, some solution is badly needed. There just isn't enough length available for longer contribution notes before they get truncated. You can obviously still access the full notes for the profile manually, but that's a cumbersome workaround. | | | | Corey |

I've voted no due to lack of documentation when the documentation had actually overflowed the available space. Also I've received 'no' votes when my notes were too long. Fortunately with the ability to edit notes now, if I can tell them I've gone over, I've gone back and edited the notes to direct people to look at the overflow. -Gerri Hmm.. I can see her point. I usually do my notes in the order that the changes are listed on the comparison screen, but I guess I can start prioritizing instead. | | Posted: | | | | Well, in some situations you just really can't keep the notes short and sweet, or you're almost certain to get negatives, and with good reason. If you're doing a major update for a title where most of the information is incorrect, you have to cite multiple sources and such...which takes up space in the notes.
A "characters remaining" counter would at least be more beneficial (and a reminder) than automatically having your notes cut off mid-sentence. | | | | Corey |
