I don't own this set, but I was wondering exactly where these bonus episodes are listed.

Are they listed along with the other Sliders episodes or are they listed under Special Features?

Not listed at all.  It should be noted, however, that the Sliders episodes are not listed either.

It's not listed on the packaging, but the episodes are on Disc 4 under "Bonus." Here is a screen capture of the menu:

Eagle,
Right now I'm the only one who disagrees with your removal of data of these episodes.  Because of the two reasons you provide.

First they are not Sliders episodes and your second reason is that they appear under the menu labeled "Bonus".  Giving the one sentence from the Cast and Crew rules.

"Do not list actors and crew who appear only in special features, or whose scenes were deleted from the main feature, even if they appear in special features."

Your First reason for the removal is that they are not Sliders episodes, I totally don't agree with simply we profile DVDs and take the cast and crew as credited.  It shouldn't matter what TV series they come from and there is nothing in the rules that support that reason (That I can find).

Second reason I can somewhat see but, still have an issue with because that was not what that part of the rule was originally intended for.  It was because we had users adding cast members with the "(scenes deleted)" appended to their role.

But, if the community agrees because these fall under a menu labeled "Bonus" they should be removed.  I don't have issue other than your going to open up a can of worms since we have a number of TV series that already include Bonus TV episodes including those from the same series.  Including some movie releases that have listed under "Bonus" or "Special Features" menu which also include TV episodes and additional feature films.  Which means all of these profiles will also need to have the cast and crews removed because of the menu placement.

Yes, we profile DVDs, but we profile them by 'title'.  And yes, there is something in the rules to support that.  While TV series aren't mentioned, the 'Bonus Feature Films' rule should still apply.

This 'can of worms' has already been opened.  As you suggest in your 'no' vote, these fall under the 'Bonus Feature Films' rule.  As such, they are not included in the profile for the main feature, or in this case series, they get their own profile.

However Ken has also stated that he wants all cast and crew in the main profile as well as the child profiles for TV series.

The rule you mentioned, says special features shouldn't be credited with either a cast or crew listing, which is why I removed it. The screen capture that I provided clearly shows that it is under the Bonus menu, which if I recall is another name for special features, hence the reason the Gag Reel is there. The shows are also already mentioned in the "Other" catagory under the Special Features tab in profiler.

Well if they are under a Special Feature or Bonus option in the menu of the DVD, then the credits shouldn't be listed and if they are, they need to be removed. Just the titles of either the bonus episodes or movies, should be listed under the "Other Features." And like Unicus says, "'Bonus Feature Films' rule should still apply."

Yes, but for that series.  He said nothing about 'bonus' features.  Bonus Feature Films, which I would apply to bonus episodes as well, get their own profiles.

We didn't have the Bonus Feature film rule back when he came out with his statement to have the info in both profiles and let the users decide what the wanted to keep locally.

As we all know DVD manufactures keep coming up with new ways to present material on a DVD.

You are correct and, if I am being honest, I probably would have given a different answer back then.  Under the current rules, however, I see them as bonus features.

That is not to say that I don't see where you are coming from, I do see what you are saying.  I just don't happen to agree.

I have to agree with Unicus... this is under bonus features.. as such the rules state not to use cast/crew for bonus features.

This is one of those areas where the program has evolved (cast dividers) and TV series on DVD have evolved (Dexter has 2 episodes of Brotherhood and web access to an episode of The Tudors) ahead of the rules. It would be nice to get a rules update so we could share this data with each other rather than using the rules to prevent us from doing what the database is designed to do (share the load, share data).
