| Posted: | | | | I have a boxset, 'Spider-Man, the high definition trilogy'. Here's my problem, the box has a UPC which I have entered. However, the individual dvd's do not, and since they are BR discs, my PC dvd drive wont read them...when I try to enter by title, the only selections that come up for BR is the boxset, no individual except Spidey 3. Are these possibly not in the database and I need to contribute them? Or is there another way to get them entered so they can be placed in the box set? |

| Posted: | | | | Because they have no UPC then they have to be entered by Disc ID.
As you say you don't have a bluray drive (who does!) then the only way you can create them is by using a manual profile and entering all the information yourself. However you cannot contribute it to the database.
Unfortunately titles like this will just have to wait until someone who owns it gets a BD drive for their PC. Then they can submit it.
So unfortunately there is no way to share profiles like this, we just have to create themselves. |

| Posted: | | | | It's not just a matter of having a BD drive. Ken needs to update the software to read BD/HD disc IDs, which should be part of the 3.2 release (coming some Monday in the near future we hope). I'm awaiting that so i can properly add/contribute the Die Hard box set. See also this thread. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | Here is a workaround:
Since you can't play them in your PC DVD rom at this point anyway,, forgot about Disc ID.,, . Now take the three SpiderMan regular movies that are in regular DVD format and put them/ transfer the UPC codes into your data base as all 'children' underneath the box set of the Triolgy.. Now edit each of those three movies by unticking the DVD Box and clicking on the BluRay tab, .
Now you have the best of all worlds., You may want to fine tune each of the entries, but at least you now have all the important factors in place Except for one and that is UPC or Disc ID.. Scan or capture the new Cover art for each of the children, then Lock them off so they can't be changed by default in the future. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. It's quite possible to share manually entered profiles. Not as easy as regular profiles, but it can be done. I've found the easiest way is to backup your database, create a new database, restore the profiles you want to share to the new database, backup that database, then send it to the person you wish to share with. They can then restore that to their main database. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Then go to File > Backup Database > Check the "Back up flagged entries only" box > OK You now have a backup of just the flagged entries you can send to someone. Not sure when this function was added but it sure is a nice one. It should be noted that when you restore it just make sure you check the "Restore Specific Profiles" option. |
