Just bought Fantastic 4: Rise of the silver surfer, UPC 5707020000298 - but when adding this UPC, it's allready used by the original Fantastic 4: 2 disc deluxe edition!
How do I contribute a new entry on an existing UPC?

To get the this information put the DVD in question into your computer's DVD-ROM drive while DVDProfiler is running. If you have AutoRun enabled a little window should pop up telling you whether the DVD was recognized or not.
If not the rest should be easy.
If yes choose "Preview" to see whether the profile matches, if yes problem solved.
If not, download them anyway make the required changes and keep them local, lock the profiles and all should be fine. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!

I will make the required changes to danish and locking them - I hope it is possible for me to contribute the changes afterwards, so the danish version will show when others enter the UPC? But then again, I can't find anywhere in the "Edit Profile" where I can enter the correct UPC   Erik |

Try this: go to the profile and got to the menu DVD->Change UPC. Then you change it back to the DiscId (by inserting the disc and then using the checkbox in that menu).
This combination (DiscId, Location: Denmark) you can contribute without overwriting any other profile.
Your original contribution is most likely to be voted down by the Deluxe Edition owners. (see the menu on this webpage My Profiler -> Contributions for the vote status). | | | Karsten

To clarify, if you type the UPC in and it brings up an Italian profile and nothing else then it's fine to change the locality to the danish one, update and submit.

The current UPC already yields a hit in the Danish locality (the Deluxe Edition). The Disc-Id itself yields an Italian locality.
So you should contribute this title by Disc-ID in the Danish locality, this should give no problems, as already mentioned Dj Doena. |

Actually I've seen it happening not just on DVDs sold with magazines but also (in rare circumstances) on some cheap DVDs sold in stores. Maybe they don't care which one they sell because the DVDs sharing that same UPC all have the same price and all come from the same distributor. Sometimes they share the standard 12/13 digits UPC/EAN but differ in the extended code, if present (the small print digits on the right of the standard UPC/EAN). | | | | -- Enry |
