| Posted: | | | | What in the world were you thinking buying that 'Chuck and Larry' movie? My god man, it's...it's... ...it's FULLSCREEN. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar | | | Last edited: by TheMadMartian |

...it's FULLSCREEN. I guess you wouldn't believe me if I told you that it was a friend's that I borrowed just to make the contribution ... ... didn't think so Truth be told ... Walmart only had the Full Screen version left by the time I got there to get my copy. I hate waiting until days later as they jack the price back up. Like paying the $16.87 (or whatever it is) rather then the usual $19.95 ... | | | Antec Nine Hundred case, 4GB A-Data DDR2 800 RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz, ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP MB, XFX GeForce 8600GT XXX 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 video card, ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink, Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s HDD, Zerodba 620W PSU, LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD with LightScribe SATA, Samsung CDDVDW SH-S203B SATA, Hanns-G HH281 28" monitor, Kodak ESP3250 printer, Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers, Windows 7 Professional |

| Posted: | | | | I dunno, it sounds like a good idea to me -- buy a (not-so-good) movie on DVD, and by getting fullscreen, you only have to watch 2/3rds of it! | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Maybe that is why they only charge 2/3 of the price | | | Antec Nine Hundred case, 4GB A-Data DDR2 800 RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz, ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP MB, XFX GeForce 8600GT XXX 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 video card, ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink, Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s HDD, Zerodba 620W PSU, LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD with LightScribe SATA, Samsung CDDVDW SH-S203B SATA, Hanns-G HH281 28" monitor, Kodak ESP3250 printer, Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers, Windows 7 Professional |

Maybe that is why they only charge 2/3 of the price And why there are 50% more of them in the stores! | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

I think this was a case when I just didn't look at it before I got home and had opened it when I noticed it. | | | Antec Nine Hundred case, 4GB A-Data DDR2 800 RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz, ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP MB, XFX GeForce 8600GT XXX 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 video card, ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink, Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s HDD, Zerodba 620W PSU, LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD with LightScribe SATA, Samsung CDDVDW SH-S203B SATA, Hanns-G HH281 28" monitor, Kodak ESP3250 printer, Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers, Windows 7 Professional |

Mark To be more on topic (I won't mention the Fool Screen thing!) ... Yes I was thrilled when they started this up. It has been like this for quite some time actually (months)... just keep in mind that you don't always get a reason... that they have some of the most common reasons programed in so that they can automatically tell you why you were declined. But they do not have nearly all of the reasons... so there still will be times when you won't get a reason at all. Also from what I understand... they are/will be adding new reasons as needed. But I personally doubt there will be a time when every reason is covered. | | | Pete |

But I personally doubt there will be a time when every reason is covered. All they really need is a text entry option, so if none of the pre-programmed reasons work, Geri can type in a few words providing a hint about what to look for. Of course, an extra minute or two on 50% (or whatever proportion aren't covered by the standard responses) of submissions would probably add up to a massive increase in her workload, so it's not something that I expect to happen. |

| Posted: | | | | Exactly... the workload would increase quite a bit... so I am not looking for that to happen either. It is one thing just to mark off a reason out of a list... but totally different thing to have to type it out with so many.
But I do agree it would be nice to have a reason for all declines. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Not trying to make work for Geri ... but if you look at a contribution and shoot it down ... how much longer would it REALLY take to give a quicky reason why it got shot down?
It would pay off in the long run. Would save a bunch of time on re-contributions to get them right ... instead of poking around in the dark. You may re-submit it a bunch of times and not even be touching on the area that got it declined in the first place.
Now ... Geri ... or whoever has to check it again ... only to decline it again ... thus the vicious circle. Would time REALLY be saved having to do this one submission over & over?
I think in the long run it actually might save them some workload. | | | Antec Nine Hundred case, 4GB A-Data DDR2 800 RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz, ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP MB, XFX GeForce 8600GT XXX 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 video card, ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink, Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s HDD, Zerodba 620W PSU, LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD with LightScribe SATA, Samsung CDDVDW SH-S203B SATA, Hanns-G HH281 28" monitor, Kodak ESP3250 printer, Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers, Windows 7 Professional |

| Posted: | | | | I would agree if they only get a handful of contributions per day... but with thousands of users.... getting such a load of contributions as they do it just is not feasible.
Right now even though they try to do their best to get contributions approved/declined within 2 days... I see times when contributions are up for voting for 6 to 7 days... imagine how far behind it would put her back if she had to write out a reason for every decline. I mean think about it... she needs to go over contributions for every region... in every locality... even having to deal with contribution notes in other languages.
So with all things considered... I for one wouldn't dream of putting even more on her. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Guess you have a valid point there. I forget this goes out all over the world.
It just was nice seeing why mine got declined as I was then able to correct that problem and resubmit it and hopefully it will make it this time. It saved me a lot of time as I probably would have not seen the issue they saw as a problem.
One question I did want to ask...when I look at the database to see what new submissions there are...am I seeing all there is? Or are there other databases out there that I do not see? I am thinking by your comment that there must be other databases out there that I as an American do not see...like German one...for example. Am I right in my assumption?
If the above statement is correct then I can see why it would be harder to accomplish. I was thinking on the lines that all the database gets in a week is what I see on my end...which in that case it WOULD be possible to get reasons for declines.
How does it work when they get say a German contribution? Who decifers that? Do they have someone on the board who speaks or at least reads German? Just curious about that. | | | Antec Nine Hundred case, 4GB A-Data DDR2 800 RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz, ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP MB, XFX GeForce 8600GT XXX 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 video card, ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink, Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s HDD, Zerodba 620W PSU, LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD with LightScribe SATA, Samsung CDDVDW SH-S203B SATA, Hanns-G HH281 28" monitor, Kodak ESP3250 printer, Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers, Windows 7 Professional |
