Since I collect a few hundred DVD's I was thinking that it would be useful to use a "Bar code reader" which can be purchased on amazon.com. This would help both the speed and the accuracy. Does anyone know if a "bar code reader" works with the 3.1 version of DVD PROFILER ? Any tips on this ? Thanks for your help.

I am using a bar code reader. It emulates keyboard so there is no compability problems. You just activate field where you would normally write EAN code, and the reader sends keyboard presses.

I've been using a barcode reader for about 7 years with dvdprofiler. Started with a cuecat (cos it was free) and now have a decent one which is usb and is much better at scanning than the cuecat.

Same here, after fighting with a 'free' cuecat for years I upgraded to an ADESSO Nuscan 1000U that I found as a return for $45. Just plugged it in and never looked back. Using TLEVELs plug-in I did a full inventory of my collection in about four hours (~2000 profiles at the time).

I've been using a cue cat for about three years... I got it of e-bay for about 4 bucks total including shipping...

I like the barcoder scanner as I tend to buy DVDs in spurts like 3-5 or more at a time...

Got my cuecat for free from Radio Shack; it's still working fine (other than choking on some Fox titles that have additional digits for some reason).
