| Posted: | | | | I recently contributed an update of a.m. profile. I added coo, changed release date, srp and added crew acc. to credits.
My contribution was declined by 0 (yes):1(no) votes by a user claiming I did not have the right release date since it was a re-release, although I provided documentation for the release date of this upc. He did not provide evidence for his claim.
Could somebody help sorting out the release date for this upc? |

| Posted: | | | | Looked around on the web a bit, and found three different dates, all very close together though: - April 10, 2006 according to amazon.co.uk, 101cd, blahdvd and Powerplaydirect. - April 13, 2006 according to Virgin, TheHut and LoveFilm. - April 17, 2006 according to HMV. So at least they all agree on mid-April 2006. Although maybe not a definite answer, I hope this helps! The other user might be referring to a rental version - in any case, it's up to him/her to provide documentation. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

Could somebody help sorting out the release date for this upc? Since your you claim that I provided NO evidence I will place here thee PM I sent you which contains the information provided in the only returned email from these online sales companies concerning this release date issue. As follows:- In relation to the information on the Amazon website about release dates, I phoned a few of the online websites customer services (as I'm a regular customer of quite a few) and was told that they use the dates as supplied to them by the DVD distributors. I asked Amazon to email the response to me so that I could pass it on if required (this I am more than willing to do if you provide me your email address) else below is a copy from said email. >Dear Customer > >Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk with your enquiry. > >After looking into your enquiry we inform you that we will diplay the re-release date on the product >information pages. > >We do appreciate that sometimes the amount of information we display may make it difficult to make >a purchasing decision, unless you already know something about the item. Our editorial staff are >constantly working on increasing the information we provide about each item as it becomes available >to us. However, the information currently displayed on the product's information page is all that has >so far been made available to us from the publisher. > >If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact us using the following link: > You will see the relevant part pertaining to release dates is However, the information currently displayed on the product's information page is all that has so far been made available to us from the publisher.Seeing as you don't wish to believe the sales people via a PM I have choosen to relay that PM here in the Public Forums. Steve Edited by snarbo. Anybody wishing to see the whole email sent by Amazon I will gladly email them a copy of so required. | | | Last edited: by snarbo |

But doesn't that mean that the current date (10 apr 2006) on Amazon is the only date for that UPC and that there is no re-release of it? The way I read it, the date on Amazon should be correct and not the one currently in the database (20 nov 2000) I might be reading it wrong though | | | The colour of her eyes, were the colour of insanity | | | Last edited: by reybr |

I might be reading it wrong though This is exactly how I see it. This DVD 5060116720785 is a re-release of 'reservoir dogs' but it is a new version under a new upc that was NOT released earlier. |

| Posted: | | | | From what I can tell, Reservoir Dogs has been released 3 times in the UK. The first time, in 2000, it had a red cover. It is in the database under EAN 5-060021-171085. The next time, in 2004, it was a 2 disc edition with a white cover with "special edition" at the top. This is in the database with EAN 5-060049-145457. There were also a number of limited editions released at the same time, all seem to have different EANs. The third time, in 2006, it was a single disc release with the same white cover, but no "special edition" at the top. The profile in question contains the cover scans for the 2006 release, so I can only assume that this EAN is being used for this release.
Sorry Steve, but I can't find any evidence that this particular EAN was used for a DVD release prior to 2006. Yes, Amazon do replace release dates with re-release dates when an EAN is re-used, but that doesn't mean it has happened in this case. |
