| Posted: | | | | This seems kinda... random. Wouldn't a PM to the contributer and/or No vote due just as well? Not trying to start anything, but it just seems strange to warrant a new post just to mention this. But I will admit that I never knew this particular fact about Universal and I do find it interesting that they never do CC. Do they have some kind of reasoning behind it? | | | "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men" - Douglas Bader "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams |

| Posted: | | | | Apparently it was kind of directed at me... I did a little research and did not find a reason, but watching the way Universal does it is neat. The text is actually over or near the operson that is actually talking, and also no black box as with typical closed captioning.... |

Subtitles are something that can be enabled or disabled on your DVD player. CC (closed captions) is embedded in the video stream and then decoded by your TV. CC is only done here in North America I think. On your PC most software based DVD players will also decoded CC; PowerDVD, Nero Showtime, WinDVD and others. pdf | | | Paul Francis San Juan Capistrano, CA, USA |

pdf Sorry if i was not clear. I was not arguing about Universal and Closed captioning. I was mistaken earlier and Hand Slapped (Corrected). Universal actually now refers to it as Subtitle English *SDH | | | Last edited: by CharlieM |

Skip I am sure a lot of people think Universal Studios uses Closed Captioning.
