It would be great if you could sort box set contents differently than the rest of your collection. For instance, I generally have my collection sorted by collection number and sometimes by title. It would be great if no matter how my collection was sorted I could have the contents of the box sets sorted differently, most likely by production year.

An example would be the James Bond Ultimate Collector's Set. I would prefer to have the movies in the set sorted by production year and not title and also not have to go into all the titles and change the sort title to something like Bond 01, Bond 02, ... Bond 21

Agrare, if you use the Tag system which are hierarchial and sortable, you can do anything you want. Create the Tag to do what you want, then sort on it and boom you are done.

I don't think Tags can handle this (I have no idea if anything could, but that' a different story). What the request is basically asking for is the ability to sort entries which are child profiles to a parent profile different to the main sort order selected.

I guess the most straight forward example would be:
Sort collection by collection number ascending, but child profiles descending...:
701: Film Z
700: Film Y
-    : Star Wars Trilogy
    667: Star Wars
    668: The Empire Strikes Back
    669: Return of the Jedi
    -    : Bonus Disc
666: Film X

The above is the scenario where I occasionally wish I could do that, but I never felt the need to ask myself.

Entirely not the same, but I'd take the ability to sequentially sort (first sort by..., the sort by) before this.

ya_shin is correct and probably worded it more simply than I did.

I would imagine that if its possible to do this with tags, that it would take quite a few tags. I know I can do it with sort title. But the problem with that is that 1) I'd have to change all the sort titles and b) would that eliminate the ability to still sort by the regular title?

for example, in the Ultimate Bond Box set, it would be nice to have the titles listed under the set in production order...but at other times I could see that I may want to list them alphabetically. Additionally, I keep my dvds ordered by collection number which is my shelf order, and would like the ability 're-arrange' box set contents while still keeping the box in its correct spot.

I realize its probably not the most important feature to add (there are others i'd like to see first) but figured I'd throw it out there.
