It would make things a bit easier if the purchase date field would keep the last date used when you add a profile and personalize it. Similar to how the purchase place keeps the last value. It could still reset to today if you close it (cancel the add or click the add now button) and then reopen it to add more. But if you can't add the discs the day you bought them, and you got more than one that day, its a pain to have to change the date for each title as you add it.

I agree this would be usefull.  For the time being tho changing the date in windows saves some time.  Not ideal but it works!

This is a great idea, although a semi-workaround is that you can paste dates, so just copy it from the first entry and paste it into the following ones.

I'd like to see this too.

Please, oh please on this one.  This is been a pain in my side since v1.0 as I normally order 20 to 25 movies at a time and its a royal pain to have to keep adjusting the purchase date every single time.

And no, I don't want to set my computer's clock back for obvious reasons.

Profiler seems to remember the last PurchasePlace you entered when you're adding a number of DVDs in one sitting, but not the PurchaseDate.  I agree that this would be useful.

It would also be useful to make Purchase Date and other Personal data available for mass editing with the Flag function for situations like where I want to add child profiles to a profile that already exists in my local database.

Me too!
It is indeed not very consistent that the purchase place is remembered, but the date isn't. It also has bothered me numerous times.
The copy-paste date is a good suggestion though!

I'm all for this too. Since I add all titles to multiple databases at the same time, the copy-paste deal is not terribly useful for me, as I have the UPC stored in my clipboard when adding titles...(I'm sure it works for most though, certainly)

if you using multiple databases couldn't you add all your (new) titles to one, set the information (personal and any other profile tweaks) then backup the database and then restore just the new profiles from that backup to your other database.  seems like this would be easier than adding a dvd, switching database, add the dvd, switch database again, add the dvd, etc for each database you use. then repeat for the next title you add.

I agree with kdh1949 that if the personal data was available for mass editing it would be very helpful as well. I do the same thing as he mentioned, but also, when adding a lot of dvds (using a barcode scanner) its easier to not have the personalize profile option check and just add them. though then i need to modify each one later with purchase place and date (if its not the day i bought them) and generally this info is the same for all of them.

ah, let me clarify, that was a bit obtuse:
I meant multiple databases as in programs/etc outside DVDPro, some have features DVDPro does not, so I use them as well, and I keep the UPC to paste into each (since they're different programs, of course, I can't overlap with backing up and so on)

ahh, gotcha.

Depending on the features, you should request them here as if they are useful enough for you to keep multiple programs then perhapes others would find them so as well.

additionally, you may want to consider getting a barcode scanner, as then you could scan the dvds to enter them (its sent as keyboard input) and i would imagine that would make entering the data as a whole a lot easier (wouldn't need to jump between programs for starters)

Be careful with this! A lot of software quits working if suddenly a date before the last used is applied. Especially shareware or bought softwarekeys for a limited period (firewalls / av-software) have algorithms built in that check if the system date has been changed to prolong the usability of the program.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
