| Posted: | | | | I know it's beyond normal human comprehension, but not all smart phones out there have Windows Mobile 6 Pro. I've been a DVD Profiler user since version 1. I recently got a phone that has Windows Mobile 6 standard on it. I was really excited that I was going to be able to use DVD Profiler Mobile on my phone, because this way I could actually check my collection on the go. (Maybe even stop buying duplicates because I can't remember what I do own.) If Invelos wasn't asking for money for a full functioning program then I probably wouldn't care that there was no support for Windows Mobile 6 Standard. I guess it's my fault for going out and buying a BlackJack II. I've read through the forums...there is no fix for this problem. The support system and forum support for the company suck. This is the 1st time I've actually had a problem with any of the programs from InterVocative or Invelos. All I ask is support non touch screen versions. |

I don't think that is fair of you to say since you should have read the forums and you would have found out that it has to be WM6 Pro to DVDPM to work. There is plenty of support in the forums if you are will to look and spend a few minutes reading. Also with that approach you will get nowhere fast. You are not the first to ask for support for non-touch screen devices and I'm sure you will not be the last. So please check your poor attitude at the door. |

The mobile version of DVD profiler is a separate Program from the main one. So the problem isn't with any version of dvd profiler that you own. The DVD Mobile version is fully functioning - but it can only support some devices - which is why anyone can download the trial of it and check that it will work with the specific hand-held device that they have. | | | Paul |

Why do they suck? You have bought a phone that isn't supported by the program and no where does Invelos claim it will work - basically you are in the same situation as a user of Linux would be in for the main DVD Profiler. I will agree it can be difficult to find out exectly what is supported but unfortunately the marketing drones at Microsoft change the name of the CE based platform on almost every release making it a nightmare to figure out what is what. Quote: All I ask is support non touch screen versions. "All" you ask for is reprogramming the userinterface. Could it be done... sure. Would it benefit user is if was done... sure. Is it the best thing the programmer can spend his time on... maybe not. It's all about priorities - whenever you do something to a program there is another thing that won't be done. | | | Regards Lars |

| Posted: | | | | Hi. Hell, I PM'd Ken to verify what version profile mobile would run on. (AND that there was no Palm OS version around the corner).
It took Ken maybe 3 hours to reply.

| Posted: | | | | I have to say, I'm also disappointed that DVDPro Mobile doesn't support Windows Mobile 6 Standard, but I don't blame the software developer because of the choice of phone i made. I took a risk when I bought a phone without touchscreen support, but for the price of the phone, and the features that I got, I'm still happy with my phone.
Maybe some day Ken will get around to providing a version that runs on WM6 Standard, but he's not required to do so. I've said in another thread that covers this topic that I'd be willing to buy the mobile version and run it on my old Viewsonic V37 if I knew that he was going to develop a WM6S version, but failing that, it's not really that critical for me to have it.
If you think it's so easy to develop for smartphones, you could always write your own app that parses the XML from the export feature. |

| Posted: | | | | Hello,
I have been a user of DVD Pro since the beginning. The program is an amazing piece of work and I love it. I just recently purchased DVD Mobile and started using it on a Pocket Pc. It works great; I started to think how nice it would be to have the program on a phone so I wouldn't have to take both a Pocket PC with me and the phone when I go out to purchase DVDS. So without doing any research on whether DVD Mobile would work on the phone I wanted, I purchased an SMT5800 which has WM6 Standard. Well it doesn't work.
I don't blame Invelos for this at all. What I am hoping is that they will take into consideration all the people that have WM6 Standard without a touch screen and make some kind of patch.
Thanks for such a great product!
