| | Posted: | | | | I'd like to be able to enter different UPCs for the same movie into my collection. Here's an example.
I have "The Doors" with UPC 012236115816. I also have "The Doors" with UPC 012236108108. Both UPCs are recognized by the Inveos database as being "The Doors." When I attempt to add the second UPC to my collection, I receive an error message saying "The Doors" is already in my collection.
My suggestion is to treat each UPC as a unique product. That way my collection could have separate entries for each, even when it's for the same title.
(Even better would be a separate database of Film Titles that can be linked to the database of UPCs. This would make it easier to handle box sets, etc. But from what I've read on these Forums, that seems to be beyond the scope of the current data structures.) |

When I have a DVD with a UPC number I want to enter it that way. Of course then I’d have to go through my collection again and fix everything.  |
