Hi

I have done a search but couldn't find an answer...

From what I have understood the "Type a title to find"-command is only a "copy" of the filter searchbox? Right?

Is it possible to add more filter searchboxes in the toolbar?

For instant the cast or crew filter searchbox?

Neo: Yeah. That sounds like a really good deal. But I got a better one. How about... I give you the finger... and you give me my phone call?
Agent Smith: Mr. Anderson... you disappoint me.
Neo: You can't scare me with this Gestapo crap. I know my rights. I want my phone call.
Agent Smith: Tell me, Mr. Anderson... what good is a phone call... if you're unable to speak?

Hej,
hopefully I understand what you mean.

Maybe I'm wrong (if so pls. somebody correct me...) but the title search box is different from the filter function. In the title search box you can only find the titles from your collection list. If you make a search, the title in the search box has to match exactly the title in your collection. AFAIK wildcards (*, %) and boolean operations (AND/OR/NOT etc.) do not work here.

Well, I never used it before but I tried it now: The "Type a title to find" box in the toolbar is indeed a mirror of the Title Search field.

Yes!

Then there must be a way to make a mirror of the cast an crew search field as well?

It would also be nice if the toolbar filter box had the same substring option at the one on the filters window.

It doesn't, but it does pay attention to that checkbox.

Ah so it does, cheers.

Another thing, to get the substring box to stay checked when you restart profiler you can check the box, save a filter set then have a command file load the set at startup.

You wouldn't have one of these command files lying around somewhere, beacause I seem to have lost mine?

Follow these steps:

*Clear all filters.
*Check the substring checkbox
*Save the filterset as substring.flt
*Create a text file on your c: drive called commands.txt
*Type the following into the file:
Loadfilterset substring.flt
*Save the file, right click on your shortcut to profiler and click properties.
*Add the following at the end of the 'Target' field:
/commandfile=c:\commands.txt

Everytime you start profiler now the box should be checked. Hope this helps.

Theres a full list of commands that can be used in the help file btw.

Edit:  Oh yeah, the names of the files are unimportant as long as they are the same in each instance.

Thanks MarEll.  I've wanted the substring filter for a long time and i hadn't gotten around to playing with command line arguments either.  Now i've done both.

Big thumbs up!
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

Maybe a moderator could help me put a poll (for instance three choises: yes, no and I don't care) into this topic, to see if others also want additional search-boxes?

The boxes does not need to be a default in the program. I just want the option to put a cast and crew seachbox in the toolbar...

Just open a new thread as a poll and post a link to this thread in your opening post...
