I found many free barcodes but none were UPC-A and none were recognized by my barcode scanner |

Since you have to start and end each barcode with a special charactor to let the scanner know the start and end of the UPC code. So just printing the UPC number with a UPC font will not work. So, a pepsi UPC would be *01234000*
I know it is accurate as I typed the UPC in notepad, then scanned a can and the barcode was identical except for the ** which don't show when scanning.

Skip That is true but I have over 1000 DVD's and most of them are no longer in their original cases. I have placed most oy DVD's into DVD books. I am having to go through and input them all manually. I was hoping after I did that I could print out Barcode labels so I could manage them easier. |

The ones used on the back of DVD's is the "UPC-A" standard. The one you posted is called "3 of 9" I have already tried this one and it did not work for me. |

Not sure if it will help you, but it will batch print all your labels in one shot. And during the process, .bmp images of each label are saved for you. | | | Thanks for your support.

Make sure you're using the extended version. It does work, I have used it numerous times. Also, make sure that your UPC starts with * and end with *.
