Would be possible to in some way separate an announcement and the inevitable discussion that follows.  I'm finding it irritating wading through 5 pages of waffle only to find that ken hasnt even posted

I suggested this yonks ago - and got shouted down for it. But IMHO the discussion of the new rating system proves that this should be implemented.

A thread for the announcement and any updates by Ken - and a separate forum (or at least thread) for all the discussions about it.

As interesting as many of the discussions are, it's not very helpful for actually following what's going on. So on that font, I agree.

Agree to pauls42! IMHO the announcement section should be write-protected. So nobody could be lead into temptation by writing comments. All comments could be moved to the appropriate forums. This would make the announcements much more clear for research.
