| Posted: | | | | So After the Buffy Discussion here I'm a bit hesitant as to wat to do wit this. Im sitting and doing child profiles for 24 season 1-5 nor releases. The cover shows the following: 24 Season One(two-three-four-five-six) Dvd Collection I would normally just put Dvd Collection in the edition field, but after the buffy discussion I am in doubt. I have contributed tv shows before with Dvd Collection in the edition field, but I'm not shure what to do anymore. So people where to put it??? Oh and sorry for the slight typo in the subject line. | | | Jon has recently watched these movies:

| Posted: | | | | From the TV Series section of rules: Quote: Title: The title for a Box Set should be the title listed on the Front Cover; for example The Andy Griffith Show. Season indicators, if listed on the cover, should be entered as part of the title, not the description. e.g. Angel: The Complete First Season. So it seems pretty clear it's considered part of the title field for TV shows. Though, I can see the argument that the "DVD Collection" part of that is not really part of the "Season indicator" from the cover. But I think I would consider the whole thing together. It seems kind of pointless to put "DVD Collection" as an Edition. I mean, what else could it be? Is "DVD Collection" really a type of 'Edition'? I'd say no, but that's just me. (Unless there's a "HD DVD Collection" or "Blu-ray Collection" version of it out there. Then I guess maybe it would make sense.) | | | "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men" - Douglas Bader "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams | | | Last edited: by Vega |

| Posted: | | | | I think it will depend on what it looks like on the cover. If it looks like the Buffy example in the other thread (with "Season x DVD Collection" all written together) then I would put it all in the title field. But if it's been separated from the "Season x" bit, then I think you are justified in putting it in the edition field if you want to. This is how I would interpret the rule anyway. |

| Posted: | | | | Jon: Be very careful when trying to define something as definitive, Hollywood is famed (and even flamed) for their curveballs. I think in THIS particular instance it is part of the title field. The 24 you describe is handled incorrectly. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | So adding DVD Collection is useful is it? Ummm... I suppose it distinguishes this collection from the dvds which are described as "Toothbrush collection".. Is there any dvd collection.. which isn't a dvd collection - whatever is written on the cover? Just ignore me.. I'm laughing (sadly) to myself and I'm looking forward to the 17 pages of pointless argument | | | Paul |

Anyway, I guess "DVD Collection" is specific to the series on DVD and will not be found on the HD-DVD or BR edition. That makes me think that ""DVD Collection" is not part of the Title neither of the Season identifier, and could be entered in the Edition field if useful to distinguish between editions, or otherwise just ignored as Blade and pauls42 suggested. | | | -- Enry |
