| Posted: | | | | Hi, Some months ago i bought "eXtreme Movie Manager", it's quite a peace of programmed sh*t with a huge load of bugs... So i searched for an alternative and found the Invelos Software. After some tests with the Unregistered Version i was quite impressed and there is just one thing that keeps me from buying... The non-existant import function. I have about ~670 DVDs in my profiler so far, and i just don't want to add them all again, is there any way to import from other DVD-Profiler tools? If there is a way to get this done, you'll have 2 new customers Regards, Chris |

| Posted: | | | | Unfortunately there is no import function. This is primarily due to legal constraints. You're only options are to either enter them manually using a barcode scanner which will help speed up the process. Or, if you can somehow get your UPCs into a text file, you can use the Import UPC plugin which reads the UPCs from a text file and automatically enters them into DVD Profiler Add DVD window (at least I think thats how it works). Sorry it's not the answer you were hoping for . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | also to point out to soulcore.. The number one reason why Invelos would be 'the' choice of program is the fact that the '670 titles' he owns, we ALL own. The disc ID info/art covers/ upcode/audio/overview/cast and crew.. etc etc.., We all own and share this very same info. The idea of his wanting to to 'just' transfer over his information would not benefit an accurate true data base,, if, that is what he needs and wants . ( we all do right?? ) If he does want to keep an 'acurate' data base this is the path to follow. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | I've never used the program eXtreme Movie Manager, but if that program can export the UPCs for your collection as a text file, then I would follow 8BallMax's suggestion of using the Import UPC plugin option. Either that or buy yourself a cheap barcode scanner. I myself have a cuecat which works fine with Profiler.
Edit: I just wanted to add that it would be nice to see an import function in Profiler for barcode lists rather than using the plugin (which is more of a workaround). Being able to add a whole list of DVDs simply by importing a list of barcode numbers would be very handy. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |
