Unfotunatly the xml file will do you no good as it is not a backup file. If you don't have a proper backup file stored in another location or directory, your only alternative is to download your online collection to restore your database.

Which Profiler?
Version 2: then your are most likely screwed unless vou have uploaded your collection at some point in the past. If you have, simply reinstall v2 (download from: legacy.intervocative.com) download your collection, make a backup and restore that into v3.
If you deleted v3: the data is not stored in the program folder but in \Documents and Settings\$Username\My Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\
Just look if its still there. If yes, simply reinstall v3.

As Max has said, the XML file is not a backup. I checked and your online is also empty, so that makes downloading impossible.

Sorry for your trouble, but take it as a lesson learned. BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP.

Just read what Mithi posted whle I was messing around trying a couple of things and the link to data recovery might be your best bet. You can open the xml in notepad and find your purchase place and price in there, so some of the personalization data is there, just no automatic way to get it back.

Yup...looks like he has some work to do. His online collection on both sites are empty . Backup is my friend.

Did you even read the answers?
No you cannot import xml files. Your only chance is now the workaround Mithi proposed (see his signature).

Nope, your online collection is empty. There is nothing to download.

Click on the link in Mithi's signature on Help for data recovery, and follow the instruction under the heading Restore from XML-Export

After you have done this, you will have to re-create any box set relationships.

If you have a lot of time on your hands, you can still get some of the personalized information from collection.xml by opening it in a text editor (notepad) and find purchase info, tag info, view history, collection number, etc by locating the appropriate fields, but that process would be extremely tedious with 2300 DVDs to go through.
