HD-DVD don't use Region Coding. But problems occure on the Combo discs, wich are HD-DVD on one side, and DVD on the other. The side with DVD usually have region code.

The question is, how should I register discs like that in the database, with or without region code?

I recently updated about 10 HD titles in the database, and removed the region code. Some got acepted into the database, and some did not get accepted. So it's doesn't look like screeners agree on this matter...

I'm unfamiliar with HD DVD/DVD combos. How exactly are they entered into the database? Are they entered HD DVD as parent profile by UPC and DVD as child profile by Disc ID?

I'm not sure either.
I believe the HD-DVD side takes priority, so the only way to tell it's a combo is by the fact that both media boxes are ticked.
I remember a suggestion that the DVD side be entered as a child profile, but it was shot down in flames, that's if I'm remembering right anyway.
But certainly that could be an option for the local database - as I'm sure the DVD side is just the same disc as the normal DVD release so it's highly likely to be already in the database.

I would think it the better option locally as the Region coding, audio and video attributes between HD DVD and DVD are completely different.
