| | Posted: | | | | Hello, I'm new in here and first of all want to excuse some grammatical errors, if there are some :-) . I've a little problem with my collection. My wife has lent out some or our DVDs to her colleagues. This is several month ago and now we don't remember so well, which titles are due and which we've got back. So I tried to play with the database to do the following. I'd like to mark all of the DVD as lent and want to scan ( via Barcode scanner ) the DVDs which are phisically in our collection. So there has to be a rest of DVDs which are not in the collection. With this delta I'm able to tell, which DVDs are no more in my collection but somwhere at my wifes colleagues. This won't help me much to get them back, but it gives me a total of missing DVDs ( to have an argument to tell her not lo lend any more DVDs without writing down where they are  ). But the Profiler gives me no opportunity to mark all DVDs as lent and I haven't found a way to scan each DVD individually an mark it as "back from lending" . Is there any way ( plugin ) to manage this ? regards Uli |

| | Posted: | | | | You are correct in that there is no function to mark all DVDs in your collection as loaned at this time. You might however consider creating a loaned tag and tagging all DVD with this tag. As you physically scan your DVDs you can remove the loaned tag. When you are done, filter on loaned tags and the ones that still have the tag will be the ones that your precious other  loaned to her colleagues. | | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| | Posted: | | | | As you've only got 300 titles, you may find it easier and quicker to run and print a "simple report" instead. I adapted my report to contain 3 columns, so my collection of 1000 titles only takes up 3 pages. Then simply cross off the ones you can see in the house. |

Agreed; Max provides a very good solution in the vein of what was asked for but I suspect a printout of a simple list and a pen would be easier... I produced a similar list to check off whether I had actually, physically checked the barcode of my DVD matched the one I put in my database (I didn't actually have access to my collection most of the time I was entering the initial batch of data, just the titles, so I guessed which was most likely... i still occasionally come across one that's wrong!) | | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

| | Posted: | | | | I still do the pen and paper method, and I have 1400+ titles. I did it once using my barcode scanner, but it's too much hassle, since my barcode scanner is not wireless, so it's much easier to just turn around and look at the titles, rather than take the DVD out and scan them all one by one. That one time I did it though allowed me to spot quite a few wrongly entered UPC, which are now corrected!  |
