I am glad that 3.1.0 now has real vista support, but I am using Vista Ultimate x64.  Which means it has to run in a 32bit enviornment which isnt as efficent.  Most cpus on the market now are x64 compatible and Microsoft is pushing for x64 OSs, which admittedly didnt take off with XP but seems to be doing well for 2003 and Vista.  64 bit does greatly improve database access, not to mention show lower active resources needed for those of us on a 64bit os.

So basically an 64 bit addition would be nice, if it is just Vista or also XP either way as there are users on xp64 as well and that has a lot more problems running 32 bit versions of software.

I think, this is currently not possible, as the used database engine (DBISAM) seems to only support 32 bit currently.
I'm not sure about Delphi, but it may support 32 bit only too. At least they call it Delphi for Win32

This is correct for large databases (think hundreds og gigabytes if not terrabytes). I doubt itmatters to a database as tiny as your local DVD Profiler database. I use 64 bit as well but would certainly not consider a native 64 bit version the highest priority.

While improvements in database access is often directly related to the size of the database. You must also consider the memory and cpu usage on desktop machines. Desktops do not often have as much ram or cpu proccessing power as servers so it would be more noticeable.  Also I have seen some users on here with multi-gig database sizes.  I have seen fairly good resource improvement and general speed improvements on databases as small as 200mb.

While I am not saying that native 64 is a priroty. This is the direction computers are going. In the next say 6 years microsoft will not be offering a 32 bit os. Much better to adopt and built earlier than play catchup to microsofts whims.
