| Posted: | | | | I just wrote to some guy who voted against a contribution of mine because of a common name ('I think' he wrote that the common name etc.). He thought....I answered (pathetic answer, I know):
So I wrote to him:
It's certainly getting tough to do something correct nowadays. The man is credited on disc as Edward not Ed but you think......it should be Ed.
Ye Gods, where are the good, old Intervocative days.......How simple were things. Nowadays you can't do thing without getting votes against even if you take the name from DISC.
You know, I'm doing a profile at the moment where I have to add about 80 names. Even if I do it correct someone can vote against the profile because of some lousy common name. It's really not funny.
I have a question: Is it wise to continue with this profile? Or making any profile in the future? Adding all these names and also worrying about common names is really too much for an old man...... |

They would still be simple if people would stop trying to poke holes in the Rules, and try twist and turn to support everything from n SRP change of a few to pennies to whatever your poison is. They were designed to be easy to follow...I feel your pain.

| Posted: | | | | Allright, I'm struggling on adding the Cast for Binion's Poker Room (The Poker Date) which is a long title for a divider. Still think it's fun to do this. |

| Posted: | | | | Skip, there was no twisting or hole-poking here...just a request for additional documentation.
My point to this guy was that with a person KNOWN to use multiple names he needed to provide some documentation establishing edward and not ed as the common name...a simple request I should think....I was not arguing the credit itself, just pointing out that a common name MAY need to be used in this instance....no reason to get all bent out of shape...or to go crying to the forum | | | Last edited: by bob9000 |

| Posted: | | | | Let's not forget it was Ken who said "No vote is not the end of the world".
Just because someone votes no it doesn't automatically mean the contribution will be rejected. If you feel the information is correct let the contribution stand and let the screeners decide. |
