| Posted: | | | | I was changing Anthony Stewart Head to Anthony Head, his agreed common name, for series 1 of Spooks and contributed with unclear notes (I now remember why... read on) and got questioned about whether it should be using a Credited As. Checking my own notes iI hadn't ticked this one as needing Credited As so I replied to a couple that it didn't... but I decided to go back and double check anyway as my own notes were somewhat sparse; then I remembered why.
Spooks does not have any credits.
They used to all be available online at the BBC site but the series 1 ones are now gone edit: but they are also on the DVD as an extra.
My personal belief is that the online credits (assuming they're available anyway) should only be used for identifying actors; not treated as actual credits to match up names using 'Credited As' (edit: in the 'secret credits' extra on the DVD he is actually credited as Anthony Head so in this case the point is slightly moot)
So what are other people's opinions... should we change them all to uncredited? What about the crew who should therefore be removed? Should we treat online credits as real credits so used 'credited as' if applicable or should the common name stand once the online credits have just been used as a 'source' for who was in the episode. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong | | | Last edited: by Voltaire53 |

| Posted: | | | | IMO, if there are no credits, then they can be added as uncredited and roles obtained from another verifiable source. Of course, all uncredited must be documented. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | They should be included, and the "common name lookup tool" used to find out what "Name" to enter.
The "credited as" field must be left blank and the "uncredited" box checked.
Just provide sources. | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | My opinion is that they add a great deal take away nothing and come from official credits on the disk so should remain. I note that all those who say remove them, unlike me, have nothing to loose as they don't own the disks. However I also think that the rules MAY allow them for cast at a stretch (non standard credits) but not for crew. Brrrrrp click click click ..... (That is the sound of me locking my local cast and crew) Can we not just pretend no one noticed I know I know I am heritic a non believer and should be stoned. Just sometimes I think rules can never be written to deal with every eventuality. I'll be back in 30 pages to see how things are going. | | | Last edited: by Graveworm |

This is a case of the producers getting creative with the credits. How many times have we seen such shenanigans? You can't use uncredited because credits do exist according to what you wrote, just not as part of the episodes. Use the credits from the DVD or online thing you mentioned, make note that they are from the official website or whatever, and proceed normally. This is like using official websites and other source material to find role names for old movies, just a bit more twisted, but it doesn't warrant uncredited entries in my opinion. And no, I don't own this disc. | | | John

I wouldn't remove the crew. Thats just removing information for no good reason. (And I'll vote against that.. And look what happened the last time I voted on this submission!) And I would use the 'secret' credits as the source of the credits for the DVD. | | | Paul |
