| Posted: | | | | I have a DVD that has a slip case with a hologram on it now the rules state that Quote: If a DVD is packaged in a keep case, within a slipcase of some kind, scan the Cover Images from the outer slipcase. If, however, the Slipcase is reflective, and the inner cover art is identical, use the Keep Case art to scan, as it will give a better quality image. Now there are some small differences in the covers. So do i contribute a horrible scan of the slip case or is this one of those times that you don't follow the rules. |

| Posted: | | | | I think it'll be a subjective matter. Most users I guess would allow a few discrepancies through as long as the scan was better, so it all depends on how many discrepancies and how improved the scan is. Why not post them so we can see? You could start a poll so you can see numbers of how many prefer which scan. |

| Posted: | | | | To be honest i can't see anyone liking the scans of the slip case no matter how you try to scan it they just come out horrible. |

I don't know if this will work - but I scanned a lenticular cover a while ago and I managed to get a scan by very, very slightly raising one side off the glass (I think I used a piece of card) and the light stopped reflecting back into the scanner, but the sharpness of the scan wasn't affected. Or sometimes with silver covers I'll put them inside a clear plastic bag and that also seems to help. |
