Is it possible to have collection numbers the same length?  I.E. 1234...0001

I'd say no right off the top of my head.  You could make it a feature request.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection.

Guess I could just add a 0 to the first 9 in the collection export file.
