| Posted: | | | | I think it should be either Maggie Q// or Maggie//Q depending on whether we consider it to be a stage name or not.
Although Q is short for Quigley, it's not common practice to shorten your last name in that way, so I'm leaning toward it being a stage name. But I'll go with the majority vote. | | | Stuart | | | Last edited: by Gadgeteer |

| Posted: | | | | Since she's an actor and not a performer I would say that Maggie Q is not a stage name. Also, Q does not seem to be an abbreviation; see the official Maggie Q site and check the spelling. Also, according to IMBD "She changed her name to the easily pronounceable "Maggie Q" (for the Chinese audience).". Therefor I voted Maggie//Q | | | Last edited: by Italo_Disco |

| Posted: | | | | Because it seems almost all of her credits are for Maggie Q - I'm leaning towards Maggie//Q or Maggie Q// - unfortunately I'm not sure which. I'm tempted to say Maggie//Q because it's not like a stage name in the sense that LL Cool J is a stage name. I don't see the need for the full stop as she never seems to use it and it's not really a proper initial. |

| Posted: | | | | a) "Maggie Q" as the official site tells us. b) Maggie Q// as I didn't ever hear of a surname of Q (Bond and MIB excepted ) Regards, AA | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |

First of all, it is a name she chose herself as it is not her birth name, so there is no reason to assume it can't be a surname Q. In fact, I have never heard of a first name "Maggie Q" (or whatever Q) either, so your reasoning is hardly a valid reason. In fact, I once had a guy in a class I taught whose surname was O, no kidding. So I voted for Maggie//Q. Especially since Q is a substitute for her birth surname. | | | Last edited: by hevanw |

| Posted: | | | | I've decided to go for Maggie//Q as I agree with Repter. She chose Q to replace Quigley, so to place the Q in the same place we would put Quigley makes sense to me.
I've also looked at a few articles about her and when the writer is mentioning her informally they use "Maggie" as a first name only, not "Maggie Q", so this would suggest that they don't see it as a stage name. |

It just doesn't fit in with what we normally call a "Stage Name" like: LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, Meat Loaf, Snoop Dog etc. They all contain phrases or common nouns. (Hmm, perhaps a definition of "Stage Name" could be added to the rules). | | | Stuart | | | Last edited: by Gadgeteer |
