When I learned that discs with two movies (one on each side) are Box sets I looked for the profiles for the two sides of UPC 4-030521-217157 (El Mariachi/Desperado). During this I found that there two profiles for the Desperado side (IB8EB8D0CA67A633D & I76D1A4Da4A6079DD) which both state to have the DiscID B8EB-8D0C-A67A-633D.

As this obviously can't be the case, I kept IB8EB8D0CA67A633D (for which the DiscID is correct), removed the DiscID on I76D1A4Da4A6079DD and contributed that profile to remove the ambiguity.
Unfortunately my contribution was declined - comments were asking for the correct DiscID.
Since I just own the Discs the mentioned DiscID was 'stolen' from it is also obvious that I will not be able to provide this.

So now I am wondering how to handle stuff like this where it's obvious that the given data is wrong but the correct data can not be provided.

Any comments on this? Am I missing anything here?

I'm confused by what you were trying to do.
The parent profile 4-030521-217157 contains 2 Disc IDs as box set contents Disc ID: 5308-06AC-1153-53E0 and Disc ID: B8EB-8D0C-A67A-633D. One of these is El Mariachi in the database, the other is Desperado.

So all you need to do is download those two profiles and attach them to your parent profile.

It's possible that the profile with Disc ID: 76D1A4Da4A6079DD is for a different version of the disc. If you don't need it there's no need to download it or change anything on it.

If it is for a different version of the disc then it should also have a different DiscID.
I just wanted to remove the ambiguity I found - for my collection this is no problem once I found the correct disc.

PS: Just found that the spanish version of this Disc is not set up as a box set and contains the DiscID for both sides, but well... who cares....

Yes it has as we now have the longer disc id, the only time you should see a disc id reused is if exactly the same content (apparently including where it was pressed) is on it.

You may want to revisit your cheap horror film collection and reassign/assign the disc ids, so you can submit to the database.
