| Posted: | | | | 8Ball is correct you can enter ANYTHING you wish, in anyway you wish into your local database. The Rules only apply to Contributions and the Dialog entries are not accepted...at this time.

I think it should be clear by now, that you can enter whatever you want to your local database. I don't think this has to be mentioned every time. |

| Posted: | | | | We need numbers...
On his first night inside the slammer, the new guy hears cons yelling out numbers -- “72”, “51”, “93” and so forth -- and each time it's followed by big laughs from everyone. He asks his cellmate, “What's going on?” and is told that the jokes are so old and told so often that to save time they just assign each joke a number.
“Can I try?” he asks.
“Knock yourself out.”
“Three!” he shouts.
Dead silence.
“Three!” he shouts again, louder.
Still nothing.
His cellmate rolls his eyes, turns over and says, "You don't tell it right." | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

| Posted: | | | | The Rules are detailed enough, enry. We cannot write Rules that will deal with EVERY eventuality, at the same time we don;t want rules that are so involved that users will not read them. Brevity and clarity are the purpose, in some areas clarity needs to be improved, but all in all using my own experiences in applying the Rules to the literally thousands of titles I have contributed the lats few years, they are easy to understand and implement. I don't agree with the Rules in all cases...so what...sometimes applying the Rules gives me an answer I might not be happy with...again...so what. The Rules were developed to serve the LARGER Community of at the time 500,000 + users, so what Skip wants is irrelevant or what Skip is happy with is irrelevant. If Skip wants to be happy he can keep it local and sometimes I do. The Online merely serves as the starting point from which ALL users can then develop their own local database that meets their particular requirements or preferences.

We cannot write Rules that will deal with EVERY eventuality, Well, VibroCount's "numbers" joke suggested that some doubts are frequent. Quote: If Skip wants to be happy he can keep it local and sometimes I do. What's your point in repeating this "keep it local" all the time? Is that your way to mean that nothing can be discussed or even asked? | | | -- Enry |
