You can create whatever you want locally and assign dummy UPC's, but you are not allowed to contribute those profiles.

I think that's a valid workaround, see also the other thread regarding different movies with same UPC.
However, in the long run I hope Ken does something for this. Especially the fact that we can't have two profiles with the same UPC is annoying: we cannot profile re-releases (although if we allow that it will be difficult to prevent two identical profiles for the same release), we cannot profile DVDs with the same UPC and we cannot profile two movies on one disk.

I own a few (usually magazine) DVDs with 18-digit EANs: a normal 13-digit EAN shared with other titles of the same collection, plus 5 trailing digits unique to that individual DVD.
I'd like that DVDP3 could handle those long EANs.

Edit: on second thought, long EANs don't really belong in this thread... I'm going to re-post in the Feature Requests forum.

I think it's much better to create a manual profile than a real profile with a fake UPC.  Just go to Add By Title and uncheck the box to Download From Invelos.  Then you're creating a manual profile that can NEVER be submitted.  Well, except for the one that actually was submitted (Manual Profile #3).

Still, I think that's the better method in these cases.

The cast/crew dividers help, but I don't use them in these cases.  I like to have the full profile for each movie including rating, running time, production date, etc.  Plus with the divider solution, you can't track when you're done watching each movie.
