| Posted: | | | | EDIT: Yes, should be listed with Cast if he has a role that could be submitted with Crew. But since he does not, he should not be included. (explains the dead-even poll at the time I edited this entry) I was auditing the credits of The Time Machine and I noticed that the Stunt Coordinator is listed right in the middle of the cast credits. There's 19 people credited before him and I took this shot to show that there are many credited after him (and in the DVDP credits). The closest I can find covering this is Quote: Do not contribute uncredited crew members, as they can not be identified with (uncredited) as they are in the cast section. If you wish to see these uncredited crew members in your local database you can do so, but do not include them in contributions to the main database. Now, what is "uncredited" mean here? Is it that he's uncredited because he's not listed with the other crew but listed with the cast? Or is he really credited and thus not uncredited since he's in the credits? (confused?) | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

He is credited as part of the cast, for what reason...who knows. But there he is and this happens in film credits. It's annoying but for whatever their reasons the filmmakers chose to make him part of the castt listing.

| Posted: | | | | Yeah, I think I agree with you. He's included in the cast so should be listed with the cast. He can't be listed with the crew because he's in the cast. |

| Posted: | | | | Doc: It is certainly not the first time, nor will it be the last that Hollywood has annoyed me with their lack of consistency in dealing with crediting. But I have gotten used to it.They will do whatever they are going to do Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | Submitted with Yes votes leading in this poll. Since the no votes didn't voice why, I have to go with how I interpreted the rules after reading them over and over again. Quote: Screen cap showing cast credits: http://strangejourney.net:8080/misc/main.php/d/10442-1/Credits.jpg
Added "Malaea Chona Jason" and "Jeff Imada"
Rules state "list names exactly as they are in the credits" and they state that crew listed with cast shouldn't be included with the crew. Jeff is listed in the middle of the cast. | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

| Posted: | | | | You can't credit him in the crew section because we don't credit Stunt Coordinators. However, because he's in amongst the cast credits, I would include him in the cast list. | | | Stuart |

He may be in the credits, the credit may be mixed in between the cast credits, but it is still not a cast credit but a crew credit. For crew credits we do not list stunt people. Therefore we do no list this credit. Simple as that. |

| Posted: | | | | That makes more sense to me RHo. He can't be contributed via Crew so don't list him in with the Cast. If he was a crew member that could be submitted with the crew, he should be listed in with the cast.
Resubmitted The Time Machine without him.
Suits me fine. |

| Posted: | | | | I voted No. I agree with Rho. Suppose we would have credits where for the main cast, their 'personal assistants' are put together with them. It would be really silly to add those personal assistants in the cast list rather than crew.
In recent discussions I've noticed how some people really insist on copying data as exactly as possible from whatever is in the movie or on the box. The main purpose of having the data in DVD Profiler is for the information it conveys, that's e.g. also why we have common names. In that sense, adding this crew member in the cast list makes no sense it all. If you want that, then you can just as well drop the separate crew list altogether and append it to the cast list (which obviously no one would want). |

Suits me fine. Then that is wrong. The rules clearly say to list him if he's in the middle of the cast list, drop him ONLY if he's at the end or there is a space between the regular cast and him. You had it right then you lost it. | | | John

If its listed in the CAST list, then its a cast credit, regardless of what you think it should be. As far as I know, there are very little movies who will explicitly say "CAST" and "CREW" in the credits, so it is often up to us to determine whether it's cast or crew. Fortunately most movies clearly separate the cast from the crew. |

Can you please point to that particular rule ? I just went through the Credits rules and I don't see anything like that. BTW, I also wonder what role you would then use for a crew member within a cast list ? Their function ? Makes no sense IMHO. |

| Posted: | | | | He is listed within what DVD Profiler defines as "the ending credits".
How many times are we going to re-visit this question?
Since he is mixed in with the rest of the cast credits, the producers wanted him credited as part of the cast. And we are to copy the credits exactly as they appear in the ending credits according to the Rules. Dropping someone out of the credits is not coptying the credits exactly! | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |
