| | Posted: | | | | Here is the deal, I have the 2002 Law and Order DVD box set in my collection. It was in the 2.x database. it even has a UPC in the profile, but not on the box. But to add it now, it is unable to validate the UPC.
Usually when there is no UPC, the disc ID is used. but in this case what disc, also, it would be the same as the child profile.. (see bellow, for more info)
What do I do?
Remember, this was in 2.x. The only change I made was to fix the cast.
In the cast, I added the the new dividers. (although, probably should be in the child profiles).
Speaking of I have put the cast from this profile (that was in and aproved in 2.x) into the child profiles. The only one that is still in 3.x is Criminal intent. It has a UPC, but there is not one on the DVD case. I used this one, changed the UPC, to the disc id, added the cast (see above), and resubmitted. |

It does happen... and it used the disc ID of the first disc in the set with ver. 2.4 I decided not to upload it here though... as I prefer to have each movie in my local database then to use that disc ID for the boxset online and not have child profiles. | | | | Pete |

Skip There are lots of boxsets without the UPC on the box. The Simpsons sets had the UPC printed on that tacked-on page that was shrink-wrapped to the box. Other Fox TV sets look to be the same. If you threw that page away like I did on some of my sets, no UPC!  I found this out last week as I went over my collection using Tlevel's select by UPC/EAN plugin to check for any mismatches between my list in DVDProfiler and my DVDs. I found twelve or so that did not match, most from the start of my collection that I may have entered by title. But there were a few that looked like the UPC got changed during the conversion from 2.4/2.5 to 3.0.  pdf | | | Paul Francis

This is the 2002 Emmy DVDs for the Law and Order series. Take a look, the 2007 set is in the series. It has no UPC, but uses one of the disc IDs.
I really don't want to use the disc ID. because i am using them for the individual disks... They should be in the data base soon. I submiitted them and they were approved. |

| | Posted: | | | | I think for now, the best you can do is add the box set as a manual DVD so at least you'll have it available for your own database.
For the online database, I guess as there's no UPC then anyone wanting to add it will go for Disc ID and find the child profiles you've added. Then they can do the same - create a manual entry for the boxset to hold them. |

I got the Black Sky: The Race for Space & Winning the X-Prize which was only available for purchase on the Discovery Channel Store (I got mine from a charity store). This is the first no-UPC title I have entered so wanted to know what others have done. |

| | Posted: | | | | At first glance, the UPC seems to be correct. Both upcindex.com and upcindex.net link the UPC to The Black Sky DVD. However, the number is registered to a wine importing business (!), not a Media co. All things considered, I would submit it, with all the information you have, including the above links, and let Invelos make a decision. |
