| Posted: | | | | I am VERY much in favour of Ken and Gerri being the only two people allowed to make any kinds of posts in the Announcement forum. That way when it lights up I know there's something newsworthy posted by Invelos, and not just someone responding to a thread.
If people feel they need to be able to respond to announcements, I'd suggest creating a new forum titled "Announcement Responses" or some such.

| Posted: | | | | i went with invelos use only because when i see the little explanation point there, i open it up only to find people postiing on announcements that are two months old. i want to know what ken and gerri have to say, but i don't think we all need to comment on it. use the other sections of the forums for that. imho... krik | | | "Vampirism is still not a disease, Julia. | Posted: | | | | I agree with Krik. And to those who voted "No, but replying is OK, If it's OnTopic." I would like to ask: How many discussions have you seen here that stay on topic...? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | If the announcement is important enough, it will be on the front page. The whole point of getting its own forum is so it can be discussed. |

| Posted: | | | | What about putting a link in the announcement thread that points to a thread dedicated to the subject but in the most appropriate forum (e.g., the recent discussion about Common Names would appear in the Submissions forum). If the announcement thread itself is also locked for just Invelos then members can easily discuss the announcement without burying updates by Invelos several pages into the discussion. For what it's worth, I just bookmarked " Posts by Ken" when I'm looking for announcements. I swear I'm not stalking! Okay, now back to my most natural state... lurking. | | | Last edited: by IronWaffle |
