Hello,

maybe it is a bug, maybe it is a new feature request (in my opinion it is a bug, but OK):

when you start DVD Profiler and you have AnyDVD running, the entries for reading disc id and for adding a DVD by disc id are removed/disabled, since wrong disc IDs are generated when you use AnyDVD. Great.

However, when I start AnyDVD after I've started DVD Profiler, I can add discs by disc ID etc. So it is not checked anymore.

So my request: check if AnyDVD is running at any moment when somebody wants to do something related to reading a disc id. This to prevent errors for people not aware of the wrong disc id with AnyDVD. I guess that checking if AnyDVD is running takes some time, so thinking out a strategy for when to do this might be crucial for performance reasons.

Greeting,
Richard

This is a well-known problem caused by ANYDVD, simple answer if you are going to run Profiler, don't run ANYDVD.

OK, this might be well known to some, but not by everybody.

I know in the beginning I didn't make the link between AnyDVD vs. DVD Profiler and using disc id.  Maybe I got a popup once and I closed this. Well my mistake then. But I didn't know the reason why AnyDVD and DVD Profile shouldn't be running together and I think a lot of people don't know it.

So to 'protect the innocent' and 'better safe than sorry' I think it is a needed feature to have this check added.

No the real answer is don't run Any DVD when adding disc id. For those of us that need it's multi-region functionality to enable us to add cast and crew the 'simple' answer is as useful as a chocolate fireguard.

I think this would be a good addition too.
Or at the very least, a check when you're trying to add a disc ID to a profile.
