I'm fairly certain I know the answer to this, but figured I'd throw it out here for opinions (plus, it will probably come up again and this will give someone searching something to find).

Would Outtakes shown during the closing credits of a movie be considered Outtakes for the "Features" section?  Or would the Outtakes box only be considered if the Special Features section of the DVD has a specific menu option for them?

I'm leaning more towards it not being considered Outtakes for the Feature section, but figured I'd get a consensus here before submitting.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, but figured better safe than sorry since I was going to remove it from this particular profile.

I agree. And technically, they're not outtakes since they are IN the main feature

Behind the scenes type shots, blooper shots, etc., that play during the credit roll are considered part of the movie itself.  Don't add anything to Features for that.

and may I add as well,, I find that bloopers or outtakes in the film's final credit roll are 'padding' to push that film from say i.e. 82 minutes to closer to 90.. and you would never see padding to a film closer to 100 minutes or even two hours. Those films of longer length, that do have cut bloopers and/or outtakes in the directors possession somewhere, are then usually reserved for a DVD release that has the capability of a 'menu' to access those clips..

Unless it is a Jackie Chan movie

I have read that the reason he includes all his failed stunts/takes in the end credits, is because when he went to the USA to make CannonBall Run II, they included the bloopers in their credits, Jackie then thought that this was a good idea (or was it he thought all US films did this)

Hence watching him break most bones in his body for the last 20 odd years
Signature? We don't need no stinking... hang on, this has been done... blast [oooh now in Widescreen]
Ah... well you see.... I thought I'd say something more interesting... but cannot think of anything..... oh well
