| Posted: | | | | Greetings:
Confusion on my part, which I can't figure out from the contributions rules. OK, here it goes:
When submitting DVD Features, we have a checkbox for Featurette and a checkbox for Interviews. (The XML tag for Featurette is "Making Of", BTW ... that threw me for a loop, too.) It seems like it's hard to have Interviews without it being part of a featurette. And it seems real difficult to do a "Making of" without sitting down and talking to some cast and/or crew.
My example is Fletch, the "Jane Doe" Edition (UPC - 025193289223). There is an extra titled "Just Charge It to the Underhills: Making and Remembering Fletch". It's describe as such: "Relieve the insanity of this comedy masterpiece through hilarious interviews with the cast and crew." I watched the feature, and it's more or less people being interviewed on how they made the movie. ("Well, we let Chevy ad-lib a lot. He was good at it.") So what do I have, a featurette, interviews, or both?

| Posted: | | | | I don't have this particular DVD, so I can't be sure, but the "Interviews" checkbox is there because on some DVDs you will find as an extra interviews with cast members set aside separately to any other material. A general guideline to follow would be: if the interview is intercut with any other material (behind the scenes, clips from the film etc.) then it is a featurette, otherwise it's an interview. |

| Posted: | | | | I would say if interviews are part of a featurette then do not check Interviews. The same is true when we have deleted scenes in a featurette we do not check Deleted Scenes.
On my contributions I only check Interviews when an Interview is a separate feature as part of the bonus materials. | | | Are you local? This is a local shop the strangers you would bring would not understand us, our customs, our local ways. |

There are numerous releases where interviews with cast or crew members are separate features. Only in these cases should "Interviews" be checked. | | | Michael |
