| Posted: | | | | I couldn't find this in the Guidelines, nor by searching the forum, although it seems a common problem. How exactly should I compose the title of a profile that has 2 movies on it ? Do I separate the two titles with an ampersand, a hyphen, a slash,... ? |

| Posted: | | | | No specific guidelines, but all the cases of this I've seen have used / between the titles where there isn't already a link in the boxset title itself.
e.g. if the boxset was Superman 1 and Superman 2 I would use the 'and', if it was
Superman 1 Superman 2

Seems to be more readable to me. Checking MANY titles in the database it is also the 'accepted' way it is done (bad english or not) - in fact it is so widely accepted that more than once I've seen Title 1/Title 2 changed to Title 1 / Title 2 as the only update in a contribution and get all Yes votes. I believe therefore the accepted Guidelines are to separate with ' / ' | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

Seriously though, general grammar convention is not to separate with spaces. I thought that was only with single words, such as and/or and he/she, where the / means 'or'. When phrases are used instead of single words there tend to be spaces around the slash ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slash_(punctuation)#English_language ) Here / is being used in the sense of 'and' instead of the ampersand ( & ) that normal English would use. Ampersands would be a bad idea for film titles since there are titles with ampersands but hardly any with a slash. | | | Last edited: by jaap |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the feedback guys. I had a submission for two movies Narc and Control. I'll change the submission to have them show up as "Narc / Control". BTW, the box just didn't have any separator, the titles were just in 2 colors. In fact, at first I thought it was a movie named Narc Control . |
