The problem is caused by parental control settings. Note that disabling parental control in DVD Profiler does not affect the online settings!
The Online Collection system defines Adult titles as any title with either an Adult genre or an Adult rating.
On the website, under My Profiler->Online Collection->Settings, check whether adult titles are set to display. There are two settings - the "Private" setting, which controls what is seen when you're logged in, and the "Public" setting, which controls what others see. | | |

| Posted: | | | | bouncer, you probably have your online collection set to not show "Adult" movies. The system considers any movies with "NR" to be "Adult" even though typically those are simply TV shows or any other movies that simply just aren't rated.
At the top of the websites menu, click on "My Profile" and then "Online Collection". You will see 2 sections, one called "Show in Public Listing" and the other "Show in Private Listing". In each of these is a check box for "Adult Titles" which you will need to check for your entire collection to be visible. | | | "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men" - Douglas Bader "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams |

In addition it also counts any 18 (UK) (and equivalent in other countries) as Adult now so either you display everything you own or any film such as Alien, Dirty Harry, Lethal Weapon or Terminator 2 It's a ridiculous situation and one that needs sorting ASAP - I'm very surprised we haven't had an explanation for this, apart from "to comply with decency laws" which makes no sense when the only real option is to show ALL titles/covers rather than just hide the adult ones which may cause offence! All it emans is most people now keep two databases (one with adulty titles in) which means nobody ever gets to vote on updates to adult titles... | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

We're aware of this limitation, and yes the change was made due to variances in decency standards. This is a temporary fix until we can address this better. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

Fair enough; glad to hear it will be addressed... but I still don't understand if 'decency standards' is the reason why are we permitted to "display all titles/covers including adult ones" at all? Forcing people to choose between not displaying NR/18 rated titles (making the online list all-but-useless) and displaying "all including adult" makes it MORE likely people will display titles which some areas may consider indecent! | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

Maybe it's about putting the user in control so they can comply with their local laws (although I'm not sure how it stacks up that invelos host it vs it being the users collection). | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

Unfortunatley this change takes away all control that we used to have. Hopefully this really is a temp fix and not a temp fix that lasts for ever.. (At least I have phpdvdprofiler..) | | | Paul |
