| | Posted: | | | | I lost my DVD Profiler database a while ago, so I'm finally going through and adding things again.
I noticed when I add a boxed set (The 14 disc Ultimate Superman Collection for instance) it only adds the boxed set itself and counts it as one movie in my collection. It doesn't add the movies in the boxed set as separate films. In fact, I don't see a way to even view them as separate films. This is also true for the Star Wars Trilogy boxed set. The movies in these sets don't have their own UPC codes so I can't find a way to add them seprately without inserting each one and going by disc ID. Is that the only way to do it? |

That way it's already out and I just quick download the file and attach it. It would be nice if you were able to automatically download the child profiles with the box sets... | | | | Lori |

| | Posted: | | | | The best way to add them is simply to put the DVD in your DVD-ROM and add them by disc ID. If you don't have a DVD-ROM in your computer, you'll have add them by title. Or you could preview the box set profile, copy down the IDs listed under Box Set Contents and try to look the children up by title, then match on the disc ID. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.

| | Posted: | | | | I have one question. When I add child profiles to a boxset they count as 1 dvd as well as the complete boxset, even when i personalize the boxset to have no dvd number.
So a boxset with 2 Films and 2 DVDs(2 child profiles) is counted as 3 Dvds in the collection.

| | Posted: | | | | This is a mtter of personal choice Dark. There are any number of methods for handling this.
I will explain my method and rationale to you. First off Total DVDs is misleading, it really should be Total Profiles because that is what it is counting. My method will not very effectively if you apply some specialized Collection Number application of your own. But here goes.
For a Boxset(Film) I do not apply a collection number to the Box itself, I assign collection numbers to the individual films within the Boxset
For Television sets I do it precisely the opposite, the Box gets the number the contents do not.
For my purposes, I count TV series as an individual title of their own, but not the discs.
This results in a Total DVDs(Profiles) of 3266(currently) but a title count by my method of about 2430.

| | Posted: | | | | I do it a little differently... I number the items that I purchase... so in other words... I number the parent profile of everything... and no numbers on any of the child profiles. Whether it is a movie boxset or TV Series boxset makes no difference to me. | | | | Pete |

What where they charging $40-$50 per half...complete for $70 or there abouts, so those that brought it halves end up paying more than those who buy the complete.
We get something similar over here. Exchange rate is what about $2 - £1 so a TV box set say Heroes season one will possibly be $60-$70 that might end-up being £60-£70 over here they don't always bother with the exchange rate they just swap $ & £ signs, then complain when we buy from abroad so as to get them cheaper.
