| Posted: | | | | I was just going through my collection and finally decided to ask this question: For What A Girl Wants, full screen edition, upc: 085392-466528, the title is listed as: What A Girl Wants (Ce Dont Rêvent les Filles). The French part is not listed anywhere on my cover (nor on the one in the database). While it's been a while since I watched it, I don't remember it being on the DVD either...
The widescreen version (which I don't have, but upc is: 085392-466627) does not have this in its title.
The title was this way in the old version as well, but shouldn't the title be just: What a Girl Wants?
Thanks for any help! | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | Can't say, don't own it. It's possible that the original contribution came from Canada, given the French translation. Since they're both region 1, and frequently have the same UPCs, that's not unusual. I honestly don't know who trumps in that case. |

| Posted: | | | | Well...I'm leaning towards changing it because it really doesn't match the cover or anything in the dvd. At the very least, the "a" needs to be lower case, not that I'd submit it just for that, but I do plan on auditing the title soon.
Anyone else want to chime in that's more familiar with the title?
Thanks! | | | Lori |

While I can't offer a direct answer, I can offer this hypothesis. The film's title is What a Girl Wants period. It may have been based on a another film, it certainly woudn't be the first or last, but that would have no impact on the Orignal title. Now if it were as you suggest A Canadian title, thayt COULD explain it, Canada and US are BOTH Region 1...TRUE, but they are DIFFERENT localities, in fact Canada has TWO localities one for Frech Canucks Canada(Quebec) and one for English speaking Canucks...Canada.. If it that is true, then it would belong in the Canada(Quebec) locality and no where else. BTW I have the Widescreen Version

| Posted: | | | | I prefer widescreen myself, but for something like this, when it's on sale at Target for cheap...I'll buy the full screen. More of a guilty pleasure than anything. But yeah, I've always felt that the french shouldn't have been included in the title, but haven't really gotten around to fixing it or figuring out if it should or shouldn't be there until now. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | I just looked at the data on FS Edition, if it is a Region 1 US title it is definitely incorrect. I would say change it LJG, if it is listed incorrectly in the wrong locality then the user who made the change needs to correct his own data and resubmit it under the proper locality.

| Posted: | | | | Given the whole locality thing, it certainly seems like a no-brainer at this point. Nice to get an easy one. |
