| Posted: | | | | Example why is The Bourne Files UPC 025195006477 allow with cover only in to the database? There are other also like Lethal Weapon 1/Lethal Weapon 2/Lethal Weapon 3 UPC 012569768086
I just think not having cast/crew information make the database look very unprofessional. I know you may say yea it's a box set etc etc. Still should list the people in the movies. |

The parent is only containing the items necessary for the "container" (a cardboard box or similar), which isn't really much more than a cover scan... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Since "The Bourne Files" discs have no UPCs you would insert each disc in your DVD-ROM then in DVD Profiler you woud choose DVD>Add to Collection then Add Inserted Disc. The child profile, if there is one in the database should show up in the list. Add all 3 discs then attach them to the parent profile. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | It is also highly likely, Randal that if these are pre-release Boxsets, the information for the children may not yet be available on an individual basis, AND may not be until the sets are actually released.

Skip They were just released this past Tuesday so I doubt that child profiles have been created yet, but I could be wrong. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I will just skip the box set and pay for the normal DVD's seems too much work for a freaking movie. I am sure I can pick up the 2 dvd cheap from someone selling them on Amazon next week.
I do plan to get the lethal weapon dvd's however $9.10 is not bad for 3 old movies on 2 dvd's. | | | Last edited: by Randall_Lind |

| Posted: | | | | It's no real additional work if you think about it. If you buy a box set and each movie has it's own case, check to see if the case has a UPC. If so, add it via UPC. If they don't have a UPC or don't have their own case, insert disc and add via Disc ID.
There are cases where your Disc ID may not match the existing Disc ID. If that is the case, you can search for the title by name and add it that way, then you can even update the Disc ID and submit as a new profile.
The parent profile (for the box) is just for those of us who like to keep grouped items when we bought them grouped when we browse them in DVDP. | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

| Posted: | | | | Randall_Lind: You should know the Bourne set is $9.99 when you use Master Card at (I think) Best Buy (might be Ciircuit City). So 2 movies plus a bonus third disc and a free ticket to Bourne 3 ain't too bad (even at the $14.99 regular price). | | | Last edited: by The Movieman |

I have done as you said, added the Alfred Hitchcock Collection (UK) by UPC (5050582-382679) and then each child disc by disc id. The problem is, when I try to add 'The Birds' by disc id, DVDP shows ONLY the German profile, with the German title and cover. I checked by title: the UK version, same disc id, is also listed. So I added it by title, problem solved. What I don't understand is why I couldn't add the UK release by disc id, even if it's there in the database. | | | -- Enry |

Apparently your Disc ID is unique and is not yet in the database. You aren't required to, but if you wish, you can contribute it to the database. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

There were problems with adding non-US discs to Profiler using their ID. I don't know if this has been solved in the new beta - I haven't had a chance to check it yet. |

Now it works like a charm... and picks the locality I set as default in Tool-Options-Defaults. Changes in version 3.1.0: Enhancements ... Improved matching for profiles added by disc ID; now also tries to match default locality first | | | -- Enry |
